MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte, Sep. 24 (PIA) -- The Philippine Rural Development Project under the Department of Agriculture (DA) that is intended for the province Southern Leyte conducted a pre-bid conference, Thursday.
The Pre-bid conference is one of the important requirements of the World Bank-funded project, Jenny Lyn Almeria, DA Deputy Project Director informed.
In a presentation, Almeria said that the project amounting to P188,390,566.25 is for the Mahayahay-Manalog farm-to-market road with about 16.58 kilometers in length is open for bidding on October 2, 2015 at the Jose Rizal Hall, Provincial Capitol here.
The pre-bid conference tackled bidding requirements specified by the Bidding Committee and in accordance with World Bank's requirements, she said. She added that the submission of bidding documents should be on or before October 2, 2015.
"The Pre-bid conference intends to harmonize bidding procurement process and as much as possible targeting to have the said project successful," Almeria expressed to the participants such as the interested bidders, the Bids and Awards Committee chaired by Provincial Engineer Nelson Tan, some provincial staff and bidding witnesses including the Philippine Information Agency.
Almeria said that bidders should be compliant to the provisions of the bidding "so that there will be a no rebidding," she noted.
One of the important project requirements stipulated in the checklist include the duly signed list of contractor's personnel such as the three key officers - Project Manager, who is a Licensed Engineer with at least 15 years of experience in road construction, Project Engineer with at least 10 years of experience in road construction and a Materials Engineer – a civil engineer with at least 5 years of relevant work in materials and quality control duly accredited by the DPWH.
The provincial government of Southern Leyte will have a 10% share of the World Bank-funded project worth more than P18 million, it was learned. (rgc/PIA8-SoLeyte)
