SOUTHERN LEYTE (PIA) -- A non-government organization (NGO), Karancho, in close coordination with the Local Government Unit of Macrohon, this province organized a “run for a cause” to be held on Saturday, March 17.
Karancho-Macrohon Chapter chairman Vic Gloria reported that the “run” will start at 6:00 in the morning at Macrohon town plaza. “A registration fee of P150 per participant will be collected with free singlet,” Gloria said.
The proceeds of the 1st “run for a cause” in Macrohon will go to medical mission, supplemental feeding activity and bloodletting activity, he added.
“The medical mission will be led by the Philippine Navy – Naval Forces Central medical team from Camp LapuLapu, Cebu,” Gloria informed PIA-Maasin. It includes operation “tuli”, dental check-up, operation “gupit”, for free, while the supplemental feeding will involve indigent children,” he added.
On the other hand, the bloodletting activity will be informed later to when it will be conducted, he said.
The 1st “run for a cause” in the municipality of Macrohon consist of a 3-kilometer and 5-kilometer run that can be joined by men and women with cash prizes to be given to contending winners. Though, cash prizes for the winners will depend on the registration fees and solicitations received from sponsors, Gloria disclosed. (PIA 8-Southern Leyte)
