MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte, Mar 25 (PIA) – The Southern Leyte Police Provincial Office joins the nationwide celebration of the Women's Month this March, carrying it's theme, "Juana, Desisyon Mo ay Mahalaga sa Kinabukasan ng Bawat Isa, Ikaw Na!"
SPO2 Chelo Cortina in her report informed that the PNP-SLPPO conducted a supplemental feeding among Grade Six pupils of Ichon elementary School. "About 76 pupils were recipients of a (1) lunch the policewomen served during the National Achievement Test conducted March 12," Cortina told.
A conference on Policewomen all over the province was also held in March 17 at the Camp Alfredo K, Bantug at the capitol site, she added. The conference was graced by P/SSup. Marni Marcos, PNP Provincial Director who was one of the speakers. He discussed he rights of women, gender and equality development, to mention some of the topics discussed.
Cortina said that a fellowship among policewomen is also targeted during this month celebration and "Hatag sa Lola" which set on March 27, though venue of the said gathering is still to be confirmed.
Cortina added that they prepare toiletries such as bath soap, laundry soap,toothpaste, among others for the "Hatag ni Lola" activity, where funds used are contributions from the policewomen/men themselves. (ajc/esg/rgc/PIA8-SoLeyte)
