BONTOC, Southern Leyte, (PIA) -- The Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (TF-ELCAC) of this municipality led by Mayor Noel Alinsub and that of the provincial government joined efforts in conducting a local Serbisyo Caravan and Grand Pulong-pulong in four Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP)-focused barangays of this town.
These were barangays Pamigsian, Olisihan, Hitawos, and Hilaan, all interior and mountain barangays in this municipality, the activity held for two days, August 30 and 31.
In a press statement posted in its social media page, the 14th Infantry “Avenger” Battalion, one of the active participating agencies, said the services extended to the locals of the barangay were medical check-up and consultation, COVID-19 vaccination, National ID registration, distribution of vegetable seeds, food packs, and free circumcision and haircut.
In the pulong-pulong or dialogue, the barangay folks voiced their concerns and these were duly responded by the concerned agency present during the caravan.
The barangay folks were grateful that basic services were delivered to them right at their own place.
They pledged to fuly cooperate with the programs of government especially the ELCAC that aims to put a stop to the decades-old problem of insurgency in the country perpetrated by the CPP-NPA-NDF, the military report further said. (LDL/MMP/PIA Southern Leyte)
