MAASIN CITY. May 26 (PIA) -- At least six farm school owners and administrators will soon implement several components of Rice Extension Services Program (RESP) as they are preparing the rollout soon.

The farm field schools and administrators in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Authority (TESDA) will promote the Farmer Field School (FFS) program particularly in the production of high quality inbred rice and seed certification and the farm mechanization, according to TESDA – SoLeyte Officer-in-Charge Jed Paolo Cairo in his FB post.

In agreement with the said stakeholders, the scholarship allocations shall be spread to 12 identified municipalities in the province, Cairo noted.

He added that the agreement also includes the involvement of the concerned local government units particularly their respective Municipal / City Agriculturists.

The priority towns under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) are: Mercades Upland Farmers for Development Association, A.I Integrated Farm, Carl Diver, Bendicar Farm Agri- -Ecotourism, Brgy. Ilaya Kikoy Farmer’s Association, and SSM Organic Farming and Happy Farm, Cairo added. (ldl/esg/PIA SoLeyte)
