MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte, June 26 (PIA) --  Five “Idol Mo Nominado” winners were identified by the province of Southern Leyte after a thorough deliberation by the members of the search committee.
 
Among the five winners, two will be given special awards of recognition, while the three remaining winners are Outstanding Southern Leyte?os and Provincial Planning and Development Officer Ida Sy Monzon disclosed.
 
The winners of special awards are Elsie Tomol for her community service and Maricar Miras as a young achiever for being the 5th placer in the December 2013 Nurses Licensure Board Exam. “These two special awardees are nor qualified for the search but will be given recognition for their outstanding achievements in their own fields of endeavor,” Monzon said.
 
The other three awardees are the following: 1) Rodrigo Musika, a 59 year old family man  from Barangay Kadaruhan, municipality of Malitbog. His extraordinary contribution to the community was given merit by their Barangay Chairman who nominated Musika; 2) Ma. Paz Siega Ruego from Nahaong, Libagon, a nominee of Gemma Destreza from Radio Station DySL. Ruego owned the Morquins Legacy Academy in Bacoor, Cavite  and sent scholars that prioritizes the education course so that after finishing college they will work at the MLA. She had also financed a street lighting wort P300,000 in Barangay Nahaon.
 
The third awardee is Clara Nemia Costillas Antepala who works at the Department of Social Welfare and Development-7 as Asst. Regional Director. She was a visiting Dean of the Social Work Department at the Maasin City College, who inspired the students to set a new direction in the field of social work.. Antepala was once chosen Most Outstanding Maasinhon 2012 and was awarded as the Most Outstanding Division chief in DSWD.
 
The “Nominado” winners  have each achieved each outstanding accomplishments in his or her chosen field of endeavour, inspired others to excel and to do good to his/her fellowmen and have exhibited extraordinary strength of character and integrity.
 
Furthermore, the nominee have contributed greatly to the development of his/her community or have made significant impact on the lives of others.
 
The awarding ceremony of the ‘Idol Mo, Nominado” search will be held on Monday, June 30 at the SLEM Function Hall in Maasinn City.
