MAASIN CITY, Mar. 2 (PIA) -- With a total rating of one hundred percent, Barangay Tubod of the municipality of Silago topped the latest Lupon ng Tagapamayapa Incentives Award (LTIA) - Provincial Level after an evaluation and assessment was conducted led by the Department of the Interior and Local Government in Southern Leyte.

Local Government Operations Officer VI, Dr. Jhonel M. Aṅavesa presented the evaluation results during the meeting on Thursday, Febuary 27 at the DILG Provincial Office with the evaluation team members.

Based on its 2019 records, Barangay Tubod got a perfect score in all indicators such as Efficiency in Operations; Effectiveness in Securing the Katarunggang Pambarangay (KP) Objectives; Creativity and Resourcefulness of settlement techniques, sustained information drive to promote KP and coordination with concerned agencies; and the Financial and Non-financial support.

All of the reported activities recorded by the KP of barangay Tubod have corresponding documents to show as certified by the LTIA assessment team members composed of representatives from the Regional Trial Court, Diocesan Social Action Center and the Philippine Information Agency who were present during the meeting.

Barangay Tubod, which falls under the 4th-6th class municipality category, was followed by Nahulid of Libagon and Sindangan of Macrohon as second and third placers, with 96.17 percent and 94.83 percent ratings, respectively.

Fourth place went to Barangay Punod of Pintuyan town while Poblacion of Padre Burgos came in fifth place.

For the 1st-6th class municipality, only Barangay Catublian of the municipality of Hinunangan qualified for the search with a 99.93 percent rating while for the city category, Maasin City qualified for the regional search with a 99.77 percent rating. The regional validation will be conducted tentatively by the end of March this year

“Only the three placers will qualify for the regional validation,” Aṅavesa said.

For the 1st to 5th place winners at the Provincial LTIA search, the provincial government has prepared cash incentives in the amount of P30,000, P20,000, P15,000, P10,000 and P5,000, respectively for all categories. (ldl/esg/rgc/PIA8-SoLeyte)
