MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte, Feb. 8 (PIA) – The National Electrification Program (NEA) has already evaluated another first batch of Sitio Electrification Program (SEP) 2017 in Southern Leyte which will benefit 109 unit sitios for the entire province.
NEA together with Southern Leyte Electric Cooperative Inc. (SOLECO), the implementing arm of NEA’s SEP 2017 has already submitted the result of the evaluation for endorsement to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) for budget allocation, SOLECO reported. It was learned that the said project has a total evaluated cost of P39,125,081.75. In Southern Leyte, the unlitsitios include 13 sitios for Maasin City; 6 – Macrohon; 9 – Malitbog; 5 – Tomas Oppus; 24 – Bontoc; 12 – Sogod; 2 – Libagon; 1 – Liloan; 1 – San Juan; 3 – Pintuyan; 1 – San Ricardo; 3 – St. Bernard; 3 – San Juan; 6 – Anahawan; 3 – Hinundayan; 10 – Hinunangan; and 7 sitios in the municipality of Silago. The overall electrification target is to attain 90% electrification of households by 2017 which is anchored on the Household Electrification Plan of the Department of Energy (DOE). The electric cooperatives (ECs) are the main implementers of the programs with DOE and NEA as the supervising agencies. The ECs will be assisted in program implementation, it was learned.
