MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte, Feb. 3 (PIA) – The Philippine National Police – Southern Leyte Police Provincial Office (PNP-SLPPO) has installed a new Officer-In-Charge in the municipality of Tomas Oppus in a ceremonial turn-over of command to the new designated officer, February 2, 2017.
The PNP led by PCInsp. Juanito C. Bajar under the supervision of Provincial Director PSSupt. Warren De Leon conducted the installation and assumption of Tomas Oppus Municipal Police Station - Officer In Charge Police Inspector, Gilfran B. Gaffud. The activity that was held at the Tomas Oppus Session Hall was also participated by Hon. Agustin R. Escaño, Jr., Municipal Mayor, together with Municipal Council members, Uniformed and Non-Uniformed personnel of Tomas Oppus MPS. Highlight of the activity was the reading and signing of Assumption of Office delivered by Bajar, the Chief of Police Provincial Human Resource and Development Branch (PHRDB) and newly installed Officer In Charge of Tomas Oppus MPS, and the message from the Municipal Mayor was also heard, the report said. The PNP Police Community Relations (PCR) informed that other new municipal police OICs such as for Anahawan, Pintuyan, Liloan and San Francisco will be formally officiated after their courtesy call to the municpal mayors of said (4) municipalities, once the schdule is set. On the other hand, a courtesy call with the municipal mayors of Anahawan – Diego A. Loquinte; San Francisco – Vice Mayor Elviro M. Asperin Jr., and Pintuyan – Rustico L. Estrella was already conducted last February 1, 2017. The said mayors are to set the date on the installation of the new officer-in-charge of their municipal police stations, it was learned.
